A $975 grant from the Mazda Foundation means the Fielding Playcentre is able to purchase taps and other plumbing fittings for an outdoor science area it has created.
It has been a valuable addition to the playcentre, helping it meet its curriculum learning objectives as well as teaching tamariki to value and protect the natural environment around them.
The area includes a chicken coop, a bird feeder, a worm farm and bug hotel, and planter boxes for fruit and vegetables.
