Hospice Waikato

Hospice Waikato received $3,670 to contribute to the purchase of four power lift chairs to help provide comfort and quality of life to patients at a time of great need.

Following a change to the Waikato region’s palliative care service, the Inpatient Unit (IPU) at the hospice is the region’s main provider of care for patients who are in their last days of life.

With increased demand on the IPU, the specialist chairs will help it better meet the needs of its patients and improve the comfort and support it offers to patients and their families through illness, death and bereavement.
