A key part of Whangarei Primary School’s focus is to teach students the principles of tikanga Māori, which the children are passionate about.
The school received $4,515 to purchase new Kapa Haka uniforms which will allow more students to join the programme.
The new piupiu, bodice skirts, dress shirts and skirts, and headbands will not only help with students’ self-esteem, but will give them the confidence to get up and perform in front of an audience.
