March 2016 Recipients
Redwood School received $1,750 to purchase a set of Piupiu (traditional Maori costume) for their Kapa Haka group.
Being a part of the Kapa Haka group teaches students important Maori social values such as whanaungatanga (kinship), manaakitanga (hospitality) and aroha (love), along with life skills such as commitment and discipline.
The children will benefit from wearing the new Piupiu, helping them develop their social skills and confidence performing in front of large audiences.
