Kristina Paterson’s nine-year-old son, Nathan, has Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD and Anxiety amongst other conditions that mean he is unable to attend school.
The Paterson family received $5,000.00 to go towards funding a therapy dog that will help Nathan attend school, swimming lessons, socialise with other children and go to birthday parties.
Nathan finds new situations overwhelming and often experiences sensory overload. The therapy dog will keep Nathan calm so he can approach new experiences.
