Jamie Stewart

Jamie Stewart’s son, Mahi, suffers from autism. His condition inhibits him from participating in many day-to-day tasks including, talking, developmental learning and play, sleeping unaccompanied and normal social interaction which has left him anxious and missing out on key opportunities. The Stewarts received a grant of $10,000 enabling them to receive a therapy dog from ‘Therapy Dogs New Zealand’. With the therapy dog, Mahi’s anxiety should slowly reduce, helping him to become more independent and improve his quality of life.
