Hastings resident Horiana Robin received $3,138.99 to purchase a customised trike for her 20-year-old autistic son, Ihakara.
The severity of Ihakara’s autism means that he is never left unsupervised as he has difficulties with communication, awareness of physical safety and feeding himself.
The trike will allow him to get out and about in the local community with his family.
