North Rodney Blue Light Ventures Incorporated

North Rodney Blue Light Ventures Incorporated provides a wide range of outdoor, recreational, sporting, and life skills education to young people in the Wellsford-Warkworth area. The trust aims to reduce youth crime, build community partnerships, and increase young people’s self-esteem. North Rodney Blue Light Ventures received a grant of $1,906 to upgrade fishing equipment used for community activities and local school camps.

Pandemonium

Pandemonium is a registered charitable trust focused on educating and encouraging school children’s passion for music. The trust assists promising young percussionists to pursue performance opportunities and provides access to quality instruments. The Trust was granted $2,007.42 to assist in purchasing a second-hand marimba which will be used for student practices and performances.

Papakura Community Trust

The Papakura Community Trust (PCT) was established in 2004 in response to the growing socio-economic need of families and individuals in the local Red Hill area of Papakura. The PCT believe in strengthening family and community relationships. They received a grant of $720 to assist in funding a parenting seminar on healthy boundaries and loving discipline, primarily for families and parents from the Little Sunbeams early childhood centre.

Raewyn Elliott

Raewyn’s daughter, Chloe, was born with a rare genetic variation which has caused a lifetime of seizures and intellectual disability. Raewyn received a grant of $3,370 to assist in purchasing a second skin suit for Chloe to wear daily which will help aid her gross motor skills and keep her scoliosis at bay.

Soundraise

Soundraise is a charity organisation that works primarily in Auckland with low-decile schools to provide free musical equipment and instruments to schools that have limited budget for their music programmes. The Charity received a grant of $4,095 to assist in purchasing various musical instruments for its school programmes.

Taupo Community Gardens Trust

Taupo Community Gardens (TCG) provides a place for people from a range of different backgrounds to meet and work together. Their services include annual composting workshops, assisting locals in their efforts to divert food waste from landfill, and offering gardening sessions for local ECE centres. The trust received a grant of $3,288 to purchase a woodchipper/mulcher and a tiller for use at the Taupo Community Gardens.

The Scout Association of New Zealand

The Scout Association of New Zealand is dedicated to empowering young people through adventurous experiences. The association has grown exponentially over the last year and as a result requires additional qualified first aid leaders and kits to support its new scouts. The association received a grant of $2,226 to fund first aid courses for ten of its leaders and to purchase two new kits.

Totara Hospice

Tōtara Hospice provides specialist palliative care to the community of South and South East Auckland. They support the terminally ill and their whānau to live well and die with dignity. Totara Hospice received a grant of $952.94 to assist in purchasing a wireless CareMat which will help reduce the risk of falls and dangers for their patients.

Whenua Iti Trust Incorporated

Whenua Iti Trust Incorporated delivers a range of outdoor programmes, using practical learning to inspire positive change. The trust was granted $1,583.20 to assist in purchasing equipment and resources to extend its range of experiential science-based activities across several programmes for both primary and secondary students.
